Unlike most hidden object adventure games where you have a limited number of objects to use in each room, Treasures of Montezuma has a whole list of power ups which make things easier and faster to do. The gameplay is relatively simple and intuitive. This is the reason why I believe the treasures of Montezuma have more potential to attract gamers than the likes of Super Mario Galaxy, Jade Empire or Plants Vs Zombies.
It's obvious that the developers at Crave Entertainment spent a lot of time and energy in making each level a challenging adventure. The first few levels are challenging and even harder than the previous ones. and every level has new treasures to find. Once the gem is found, the treasures of Montezuma start to appear. Each tablet has a powerful gem inside it which is required by all the characters to solve the mystery of the location, as listed on the tablets. The story behind the game starts with the discovery of two sacred tablets - one belongs to an ancient civilisation of the Aztec Empire and the other is believed to belong to the Mayans. For anyone who has played the original, will easily feel right at home here too. The game is designed as an 'adventure simulator', with hidden objects, solving puzzles & completing challenges etc. It is the prequel to the much loved and critically acclaimed PC game, Treasure Isle: The Dark Mirror. Treasures of Montezuma is a hidden object and adventure game.
